Best. Dewrito • i7-4770k + AMD R9 290 • 9 yr. ago. All Gameworks features in FC4 are half-baked/poorly implemented. God Rays = yellow haze all over the screen, lose volumetric fog. TXAA = bad coverage, even SMAA is better quality. HBAO+ = 3x slower than SSBC for a slight IQ increase and poor coverage. I liked Far cry 1 more than either 2 or 3. It had a better story then either of those and the gameplay was tough as nails for a singleplayer game. I had loads of fun. Far cry 2 got so boring after 4 hours and had a CoD-like story without the cutscenes and it was stretched out to last the entire game. Far cry 3 was a lot more fun, but I still So Far Cry 4 was probably better (semi-)objectively, because it built on Far Cry 3 and improved slightly, but those improvements pale in comparison to the impact Far Cry 3's blueprint had. Not to mention, the two games differed in location, so personal preference plays a role too. But the prevailing opinion seems to be that Far Cry 3 is the best. Personally, I like Blood Dragon and 4 better than 3. I think 3 gets a lot of extra credit for being the one that introduced the "modern" FC formula. The thing is, Far Cry 5 (and New Dawn, although I wouldn't put it equal) is the ONLY Far Cry that truly made me connect with the game and do the side content. Blood Dragon was the worse on that front (still, they didn't have much), then 3 a bit better, then 4 a bit better, and then finally Far Cry 5. (I played 3 first though). For example, by then end of Far Cry 4 you're still doing the same hostage rescue missions that you were doing right out of the prologue. At least for me, this might be fun for awhile but it quickly becomes old hat, and it's a problem a lot of open world games suffer from. Nope, it's the worse in series, but it's still ok. #12. The amount of hand-holding in the game is way too much. (I have Far Cry 6 via Ubisoft connect) #13. DX11 features will allow you to display better effects, but there might be an impact on your performence. DX9 will handle more basic visual effects but you should have better performences. I use DX11 with most settings on Ultra, except shadows and post-processing that are on medium. SSAO x2 i believe. Far cry 3 is a blast too play. Its story is mediocre at best but it's a blast to blow things up in both standard and unique ways and by that I mean attaching an explosive barrel to a statue. Its either they just send only one person to help you and he gets killed instantly before even attempting to help you, or they dont send anybody at all when you really need the assistance. Wont believe how many times ive tried to liberate a fortress and end up setting all the alarms off, call for Not completely, but in a lot of key areas Far Cry 4 is more technically impressive. More particle effects, more dynamic objects, and more complex environments. thats due to Nvidia game works not being in Far Cry 5 .. FC 5 looks better on AMD , as the dev team worked with AMD and their newer GPUs to include rapid packed math. Far Cry 5 is far from the best, but it is still way better than Just Cause 3 in terms of the story. In terms of weaponry, there is something more pleasing in Far Cry 5 in comparison to Just Cause 3 due to the fact that Just Cause 3's weapons are sometimes too overpowered. .
